Custom PTFE Oil Seals and Other Seals for Your Application

Pick the proper seal for your bearing with the NBC bearing.

If there are curved seals, fit these to the engine. Smear sealant on the seal groove, stick the seal in place, and apply a blob of sealant to each end of the seal where it joins the gasket.

Acrylonitrile-buta-diene natural rubber (NBR - Nitrile)

S type with two sealing lips, used for sealing two seperate media.
When the requested S-DUO type is not available, two S-types can be filled back to back

Oil seal material

  • It is petroleum-based oil and fuel resistant
  • When choosing spark plugs for your vehicle, it's important to consider several factors, including the make and model of your car, the type of driving you do, and the condition of your engine. It's always recommended to consult with a professional mechanic or a manufacturer's recommendations to ensure that you select the right spark plugs for your specific needs.

In the automotive industry, spark plugs are essential for the proper functioning of internal combustion engines. Whether in gasoline or diesel engines, spark plugs play a crucial role in igniting the air-fuel mixture, initiating the combustion process that powers the vehicle. High-performance spark plugs designed for specific automotive applications can enhance engine performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions control, contributing to the overall reliability and longevity of the vehicle.

    Functions

Oil seals are typically made of a flexible material, such as rubber or silicone, that is designed to create a tight seal around a rotating shaft or axle. This seal prevents oil or other fluids from leaking out of the machine, which can cause damage and decrease efficiency. In addition to preventing leaks, oil seals also help to keep dirt, dust, and other contaminants from entering the machinery, which can cause wear and tear over time.

Replace the sump drain plug tightly and refill the engine with the right amount and grade of oil.

Oil seal vs. mechanical seal is not always an easy decision. In some cases, one is the obvious choice because you are replacing a worn out seal with the same type. But in other situations, either type would work and the question is which will enhance productivity the most. At Abbey Seals, we have ample experience with a full range of seal types. We are happy to discuss the specifics of your application and advise you on the optimum type of seal for your equipment. The decision between a rotary shaft or oil seal vs. mechanical seal involves many factors, and we are here to help you make the best choice for your specific needs.

The spring supplements the tightening force (i.e., the lip radial load) to ensure enhanced sealing performance and tight contact between the shaft and the sealing edge. The spring also prevents the deterioration of main lip sealing performance caused by high heat or other such factors.

Special seal types and their features

  • Abrasion-resistant

In addition to protecting the wheel bearings from contamination, wheel oil seals also help to prevent oil leakage from the wheel hub. This is particularly important in heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and buses, where the wheels are subjected to high loads and harsh operating conditions. A leaking wheel oil seal can result in oil loss, which can lead to inadequate lubrication of the wheel bearings and potentially cause serious damage to the wheel assembly.

The square shape of the gasket allows for a more precise fit in square or rectangular openings, ensuring a tight seal to prevent fluids or gases from escaping. Made from high-quality rubber materials such as neoprene, silicone, or EPDM, these gaskets offer excellent resistance to temperature, pressure, and chemical exposure.

Seals with an auxiliary, contacting lip can also be filled with grease between the sealing lip and auxiliary lip to reduce frictional moment. This does not apply to silicone rubber seals and seals with hydrodynamic features, other than WAVE lip designs. also recommends using a hydraulic press, with suitable tools, to install a seal in its housing bore. Pressure should be applied as close as possible to the outside diameter of the seal.”  Oil seals are commonly used in a variety of industries. Below are 5 types of oil seals used in today’s manufacturing and machinery industry.

    Substance to be sealed

Most oil seals consist of some basic elements that configure their structure, such as the sealing element, the metal case, and the spring:
