Casement windows are the most popular type of aluminium window profile. They are hinged on one side and open outward like a door. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles, including top-hung, side-hung, and tilt-and-turn. The top-hung style is ideal for ventilation and can be opened slightly even in rainy conditions, while the side-hung style is better for larger openings. The tilt-and-turn style is popular in modern construction as it allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Aluminium casement windows are popular because they are energy-efficient and offer good insulation. The frames are strong and durable, which makes them ideal for high-traffic areas. They also come in a range of colors and finishes to match any design aesthetic.
This is by far the biggest disadvantage of this type of window. Currently, aluminium window joinery is the most expensive on the market. This is, of course, due to its very good quality and reliability. Admittedly, we can also find cheaper solutions, but then we have to reckon with the fact that the thermal insulation parameters will be at a much lower level.
Cracks, burrs, peeling or corrosion are not allowed on the surface of the aluminium profile. No obvious scratches, craters or bruises are allowed. In the transportation of aluminium profiles, ensure that the protective film is intact, and the handling process should pay attention to the phenomenon of bruising.
The window profile, or window frame, can be made mainly from three different materials: plastic, i.e. PVC, wood and aluminium. Plastic profiles are the most common and the most economical. Laminated timber frames are valued for their naturalness and rigidity, which is particularly important for larger patio windows. However, they are more expensive, heavier and require regular maintenance. Aluminium profiles, on the other hand, although they have the highest cost, are the most rigid, durable and maintenance-free. This is why their share of the market is steadily increasing, although due primarily to their high price, they still do not exceed a few percent.
